Whether you’re a parent wanting to experience Yoga with your little ones, an educator or childcare professional wanting to add Yoga to your toolkit, or a Yoga teacher wanting to expand your services, this weekend will be a perfect fit!

 
 
 
 
 

The practice of Yoga nurtures young bodies and mindsenhancing the physical, mental, and emotional health of children of all ages. Join us for this special weekend training and learn how to share this rich wisdom tradition to youth in your community!

With decades of experience in both childhood education and teaching Yoga, Sarah and Teresa Byer have developed a weekend training to provide you with tools you’ll need to teach Yoga to kids, youth and teens in your community. Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • The Why of Youth Yoga (general background information on Yoga and its benefits for youth)

  • Techniques & Practices (Yoga-based practices appropriate for child development, such as asanas/postures, Yoga-based games/activities, breathing techniques & meditation)

  • Teaching Methodology (classroom techniques, lesson planning & effective communication with young Yogis)

  • Anatomy & Physiology (teaching Yoga in a way that safely and effectively supports young bodies within their unique developmental stages)

  • Yoga Philosophy & Lifestyle (bringing age-appropriate philosophical themes, depth and real-life applications to your Youth Yoga classes)

  • Real, In-person Observation (we’ll observe and reflect on real Youth Yoga classes, focusing in on 2 different age groups!)

Sarah Byer

Sarah has always been drawn to working with children and believes that it is her true calling in this lifetime. She teaches from a broad knowledge base that she's developed from a multitude of experiences, including her studies in special needs education, teaching Kids Yoga and facilitating Kids Yoga teacher trainings, working as a full-time nanny, teaching early education and art classes overseas, and becoming a mother! Sarah believes that creative expression encourages children to heal, to grow, and to become the most confident, brilliant, and uplifted versions of themselves. She leads students of all ages through Yoga with lightness, positivity, and her contagious smile.

Teresa Byer

Teresa, Yoga Teacher and Co-Owner of Yoga Grace, studied Elementary Education in University (BEd) and spent over a decade teaching children both in Canada and overseas. She observed, first-hand, the incredible benefits and FUN that Yoga brought to her classrooms and students of all ages. She brings her love and passion for education, kids, and the practice of Yoga together in this Kids Yoga Teacher Training weekend, inspiring others to share the blessings of Yoga with youth in their communities.

 
 
 

We’d love for you to join us for this weekend training, in-person at Yoga Grace! You’ll leave with a solid understanding of why Yoga is an amazing practice for youth, how to teach it to a variety of age groups and settings, and acquire practical skills and resources to plan and teach your very own Youth Yoga classes.

  • Cancellations must be made in writing via email to info@yogagrace.ca. Training fees are non-refundable, but can be transferred to class or workshop passes at Yoga Grace.

  • Yes! This training will provide an introduction to Yoga and be completely accessible to those who don’t currently teach Yoga.

  • Yes! Your training weekend will provide you with a detailed training manual with helpful information and practical resources to use within your Kids Yoga teaching journey.

  • Yes! We will provide certificates of completion at the end of our training weekend.

  • No! Yoga Grace is not affiliated with Yoga Alliance and is not a registered Yoga Alliance School.
